I know what you guys are thinking...But yes its soccer again. I just can't help it,i love soccer. Its the only true sport that i like(other than table tennis). And I hope that one day, my dream would come true, that is to play for Singapore one day.

Okay back to the point,Singapore a back to defend their crown in the Asean Cup, formerly known as the Tiger cup. This time, I feel that the team has emerged even stronger and with more hunger to win matches. This can be proved by their 11 goal thrashing of a young Laos side which they hed won 6-2 last year. Also with youth blended with the experience of those who had won the Tiger Cup,the Lions have also produced many intense comebacks against Malaysia.

So who do I feel should win the Cup competition? Hmm... lets see... Singapores Lions of course! From the matches that they played, I can tell that they have the right mentality, attitude and hunger to win the tournament, just like they did back then. So good luck to the Lions!

The Match that i had been waiting for was today at 8pm...but i was late.

Before that i had been shopping for CNY clothings at Isetan and only left at 7p.m. , thinking that i would still be early for the match. But to my horror, the traffic started to jam at Paya Lebar all the way to Nicoll Highway.

When i finally arrived at the stadium, I felt really really really GRATEFUL to Hong Kai who had waited and missed 30 mins of the match to hand me my tickets(sorry Hong Kai!!).

But nevertheless, the parts that we watched were very exciting, with both teams threatening each others goalmouth frequently. But it was Singapore who had much of the possession. Ridhuan threatened the Malaysians the most with his mazy runs and sprinting ability and it was also him who scored Singapores equalizing goal. After he had scored, the whole crowd jumped and sang unitedly:"ole,ole,ole,ole..." The mood was absolutely fantastic and beyond comparison.

After that, Singapore had many more chances to score the winner but they just couldn't find the finishing touch to their work.

During the Extra time, both teams looked fatigued and exhausted after playing the full 90mins of the game and rarely threatened each other till Precious,a central defender, clipped a long range shot...only to see the keeper pushing the ball away with his fingertips. That shot rounded off the Match before it went into the much anticipating- Penalty Shootout.

The first taker was Singapore forward, Indra Sahdan Daud, who who calmly sent the keeper the wrong way. But Malaysia also scored, making the penalties even more tense. The only 2 exciting parts was when Shi Jia Yi's penalty was almost saved by the keeper, who spilled the shot into his own net. The other one was when Lionel Lewis dived the correct way to save the final penalty causing the crowd to go wild... It was truly a match to be remembered.

Yahoo! The semi-finals of the Singapore vs Malsysia soccer match is today! Im so excited! Hmm, why am i so excited? Oh yah, because im going with a bunch of soccer buddies and friends(Hong Kai, Ming Swee, Raymond, Ryan, Nick, Fu Seng, Zi Jie, Jing Lu, my Family members and of course Matthew!).Although this is not the first Live Match that im watching(Singapore vs China, 0-0),but im still feeling equally as excited! However, because of Singapores goaless draw with China, my expectations for this match are higher. Its not because Malaysia are worse in soccer than China but because i feel that the Singapore team have matured and improved recently. From Lionel Lewis to Alam Shah, i feel that they are not the same team who just play long balls but now a team who tries to play with teamwork. But, even though they have improved,i feel that the team is using too many foreigners. If a national team does not use many locals, then the atmospere would also not be the same as we are supporting other people and noy our people. Anyway, im still giving my support to this team and hope they will be champions again. Go Singapore!!!
