AAARGH!!! 1 week has already flew past my very eyes and its already the 5th day of the Lunar New Year. However, I had fun during the 3 days of the CNY break that the school gave us,as we had had many tests brought forward due to the break.Im just glad that that torturous episode is over for me. My family visited many of our relatives homes to celebrate. I also managed to interact with many of my distant cousins, making it more meaningful for me.

Although it was the New Year, it did not seem really special of any sort as we had already celebrated it for many years. We did the usual stuff then, from the countdown to the Yu Sheng and the recieving of Ang Paos. I recieved quite a number of red packets till i lost count of them(as usual).

But it was during one of the days that i had the most fun. It was on the second day of the New Year, and we went to visit my mothers few good friends. They had thier own gathering while my brothers and i went to play with their children, who were around the same age as us. As i had brought my X Box 360 along,we just plugged it to the TV and started playing Halo II. Laughter filled the house as we battled against each other to see who was the best player amongst all of us. Time flew very quickly, and it was when it was time to leave that i realised it was already close to 2 a.m. We had arrived at 9.30 pm, meaning we played around 4 and a half hours! So the saying of time flys when you are having really applys to this!!

So that was about how i spent my 3 days break.

Ok the topic for this week is either on The Green Mile or Capital punishment.

We've watched the movie The Green Mile for around 5 periods during english. For me, I liked some parts and feel sorry in the others. In the movie, they used The Electric Chair,"Old Sparky" as the way of Capital punishment. It was the usage of electricity to kill a person. Electricity would enter rapidly into your body through a wet sponge on your head, shocking you and causing some pain.
At first i thought that the first execution part was quite funny due to the lack of knowledge towards the first prisoner. But as the movie continued, it showed us more and more about the other prisoners and their character.

During the second execution, which was Del's, I felt really sorry for him as he was actually a really nice guy, training Mr Jingles to be a Circus Mouse and becoming friends with John Coffey, and had truly repented for what he had done. But during the execution, Percy, the most disliked officer, purposely did not wet the sponge. When electricity was summoned into Del's body, it caused Del to feel intense pain as electricity passes through the body slower. And because of this, Del was cooked alive causing a pungent smell to fill the room "which would last for more than 5 years". This execution made me hate Percy even more than ever. It also made me realised how cruel Capital punishment really was.

By the next John Coffey's execution, I really felt like protesting against it not because it was not only cruel but because they were killing an innocent man who had sved and tried to save many peoples lives.

After the movie, I really hated Capital punishment. Must we take away other peoples lives because a lfe was taken away?! For me, I don't think so. We do not have the right to take away a persons life as God was the creator of Man and he is the only one who can take away the lives from us. When someone has sinned, he will have to face Judgement Day with fear if he had not repented and that will be the worst punishment.

Yay!! Just 2 more days to the Chinese New Year! I'm so very excited as I can't wait to recieve more Red Packets and wear my BRAND NEW chinese new year clothes!

Im also feeling very excited to go back to my primary school to visit my teachers as they were the ones who helped me achieve my good PSLE results enabling me to enter Anglican High(where the top 15% cohort of student goes to). But this year is slightly different. The school is going to have the Chinese New Year celebrations AFTER Chinese New Year. I mean what's the point of that? Everyone and every school celebrates CNY on the first day and allows students to return to their primary school on the same day. And as we are celebrating on the 3rd day, the time that we are supposed to meet our teachers will clash with their schooling time. What's the schools problem? Wanting us to disturb our teachers who are in the midst of teaching.

Anyway, New Year is supposed to be a Happy occasion so why am I complaining. So, I wish everyone who reads this post a Happy and Joyious New Year!!!

Supporting our Table Tennis Team!!!!!

Today at around 2 or so, together with a group of friends, we went to support our schools Table Tennis team!!! The B boys were against St Hildas Sec while the C Boys were against Dunman.

Although St Hildas were an ....okay....team, our table tennis team managed to thrash them 5-0. Yun Xiang, our first singles, won very very convincingly, giving his opponent almost no chance to attack.
Then our first doubles and also our best consisted of Guo Hui(captain) and Wei Bin(former C boys captain). They too defeated their opponents with ease, not even letting their opponents touch the ball much by hitting 'killer smacks' whenever they had 1/2 a chance(but all still went in).
Up next was our one and only Teo Jing Lu! He could not only cai1 and smack the ball but also xiao1 making him a lethal player. so it was also no surprise when he defeated his opponent within a matter of minutes.
After that it was the pairing of Ming Swee and Yu Wen for the next doubles.
Although the second doubles are supposed to be players weaker than the 1st doubles, the pair showed that they were equally as good with both players smacking and defending at the right time in unity. It was as if they could read each others minds with their movement. Ming Swee even had time to joke with us in between balls.
The last singles was Chester, one of the best player in our team. He won the first set with much ease. But in the next few sets, unknowingly, he started losing some crucial balls, causing him to lose 2 sets. At the final set,he was also trailing his opponent. But after he started regaining his usual form and won back all the points. It looked all so easy to him as if he had allowed the opponent to win 2 sets on purpose. But nevertheless, it was an exciting afternoon to support the B boys as I left after their match.

Hmm, Mr Tan has given us the topic of "My Music". What should I write? Practically I listen to almost every kind of music, except heavy metal which i havent heard before. haha...

Okay, mostly I listen to Mandarin Songs like Jay Chou and JJ Lin, because my parents and brothers buys them, and so i listen...... However I do listen to English songs like Linkin Park and Bon Jovi but not much.

So, what english songs do I like? Well, that would be: Encore from Linkin Park!! actually, I dont really know much about this song just that the tune and Rhythm makes me become more energetic and want to sing along.

Heres the lyrics, ENJOY:
I'm tired of being what you want me to be.Feeling so faithless, loss under the surface.Don't know what your expecting of me. Put under the pressure of walking in your shoe(caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone).Every step that I take is another mistake to you(caught in the undertone just caught in the under tone). I've become so numb i can't feel you there. I've become so tired so much more aware. I've become this all i want to do. Is be more like me and be less like you. Can't you see that you are smothering me.Holding to tightly afraid to lose control. Cause everything you thought I would be. Has fallen apart right in front of you(caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone).Every step that I take is another mistake to you(caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone). And Every step that I take is another mistake to you.and every second i waste is more than i can take. I've become so numb i cant feel you there.I've become so tired so much more aware. I've become this all i want to do is be more like me and be less like you. And i know i may end up failing too. But i Know you were just like me with someone disappointed in you. I've become so numb i cant feel you there. I've become so tired so much more aware. I've become this all i want to do. Is be more like me and be less like you. i've become so numb i cant feel you there. Is everything that you want me to be...

My brains about to be fried!!! There are so many tests coming up before the chinese new year and im totally stressed out even before i've taken any of the tests!! Why do they have to cramp up so many tests altogether in these few weeks!? Just because we can happily celebrate chinese new year after these torturing tests? I don't think so. I think i i would have already fallen sick by then, after needing to study all these tests in a few days time.
We have already had math, english, chinese,Biology and now even more after just one month into the new school year!

Anyway, I still hope to score well for my Geography common test which i have so frequently failed. And for A and E math, I think I should be able to score... Oh, I just hope that I will score well in AAAALLLLLLL my tests..

Ok, for once im not talking about soccer. Although, while typing, im still thinking about soccer.haha.

A month of schooling has already passed, and so far i've been doing quite well in coping both schoolwork and sports. We've already had many tests such as English,E Math, Biology,Social Studies and Chinese and I haven't even failed a single one yet! In fact, I got 16/20 for Bio which was an A1,12/20 and 57/100 for SS and Chinese respectively. I am sooooooo happy cos im not those smart kind of people who don't have to study and still get A1,but the ones who study and still fails.haha.

I think maybe its because of the change in studying environment, which has allowed me to concentrate more during lessons as last year, someone "outstanding" always talked to me and disturbed me while i was trying to listen to the teachers. This caused me to stray away from the lessons and get all confused about everything. Even though the teachers may think that the trio of Ryan, Raymond and Ming Swee are very noisy, but it is because of them that our classes have become more enjoyable and not boring, making the studying environment better.

I have also made many new friends during this one month of schooling. As we have to keep changing classes because of the different combination we are taking, this resulted in all of us having to bond with the people in other classes, interacting with them and making friends with them.

So I feel that i am having a great start in this new school year...

Singapore have won Thailand after 30 years, but not without controversial. Alam Shah was thought to be brought down by his former Sembawang Rangers teammate, when he was the one who knocked the player down. After the Ref awarded the penalty, the Thai players protested by going off the field and staying on the sidelines for 15 mins before being persuaded to go back.

For me,as I was one of the spectators,i felt that the Thai players shouldn't have gone off the field. They could have protested after the game. I, for one, know how they feel after they were awarded a wrong decision,as I myself play soccer and have been ordered to play on despite people kicking my legs without any ball contact. But they should have just carried on as sign of sportsmanship. Even without the penalty, i still feel that Singapore could have won the game.
