Do you agree? EYA...

A: No. Deterrence also plays a part for Singapore in meeting threats as seen from the Citizen armed force. As seen from the Japanese occupation and Indonesian confrontation,Singapore suffered when the british were not able to defend us and when we had to wait for the Federal Government in Kuala Lumpur to protect us. This shows us that by forming a Citizen Armed force, with local able-bodied man, it would be much safer for Singapore. This is because the army consists of locals and they would feel a sense of loyalty to the country, willing to risk their own life for their country unlike troops from pther countries who would rather put thier own nation as their priority.

Total Defence is also an important factor for Singapore in meeting threats and preserving soverighnty. As seen from the collapse of Hotel New World, many personelll of the Civil Defence force and trained Singaporeans worked together in an attempt to recue survivors and clear the area. This tells us that Singaporeans feel that they are united as one and are willing to help others together as well as the country.

However, diplomacy is also an important factor.Take the International relationship for example, the UN is an organisation tha preserves world peace and prevents major war from happening. It has already prevented many major wars from happening, such as the dispute between Iceland and Britain over scarce resources.

But, I feel that diplomacy is not the most effective way to ensure Singapore can confidently meet threats and preserve her sovereignty.

Both diplomacy and military deterrence help to prevent conflicts because diplomacy allows diffrences to be settled peacefully without using violence while deterrence plays a role in defending the country when it is under attack. Countries must therfore strengthen their diplomatic efforts with military might.

In conclusion, for diplomacy to be effective, it must be complemented by deterrence. This is the two-pronged approach to prevent and resolve international conflict. Either strategy alone is insufficient or ineffective to prevent conflict.

Love at first sight...

Love at first sight...

Someone gave me a present one day.
I opened it and saw a flash of black and white.
It was round and looked strange to me at first,
and ordinary too.
Untill someone dropped it and chasing after it.
It was then when i started playing with it, and found out all about it.
It was soccer or also known as the beautiful game.
After kicking it once,twice,thrice...
I couldn't stop.
It was too addictive and it seemed to be
love at first sight...

Speech

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am honoured to address on the issue regarding foreign talents. Singapore has been accepting foreign talent from many different countries, but few have contributed much in helping our nation.

Firstly, many foreigners have been hired to represent Singapore in various sports. However, not all of them have excelled in the highest international level.Take our soccer team for example, there are many players from different nations plying their trade here.Although they have brought home the coveted Tiger cup, they have yet to perform on the big stage and qualify for a major tournament such as the world cup. In the past, when there were no foreign players yet,Singapore had won the Tiger cup(Malaysia Cup) many times and even got closer to qualifying for the World Cupthen the modern day Singapore team. This shows that Singaporeans are not worse then foreigners.

Another point is,Foreigners have been taking up most of the jobs in Singapore. This has left Singaporeans with less job opportunities as the foreigners are also given more privelleges and benefits than the locals, causing many capable singaporeans to leave for other countries.

Hence, although Singapore is a small nation,I feel that it's people are capable of taking care of their country themselves. However, I also feel that not all foreigners are not allowed to work for Singapore but just that the locals should be given the privelleges as they are the ones who would fight and die for their own country.

Thank You.

National Day!!!

Its been a long time since i lasted posted. Many events have taken place in this past few weeks but i just did not have the time to write any of it down. Well, but now i do have,so let me give all of u a brief explanation of what i had been doing this past few weeks. Here goes...

On the Saturday 2 weeks ago, some of the table tennis boys, including me and Nick, went to JB to have a friendly match with our 'brother school. It was quite a short trip to and from our school to theirs as it took around 2 hours to get there. As we arrived their school, we were very warmly greeted by the teachers there as well as the students, who offered us some of their local delicacies and drinks. While we ate the food that were offered to us,they also told us many jokes to lighten up the atmosphere, encouraging us all to bond together with them. Soon after, the table tennis competition started. It was going to be a match consisting of 4 singles and 2 doubles events. First up was Liang Kai, a sec 2 junior who had the skills and technique of a sec 4. All of us had high hopes of him as he was considered one of the best few players in our school. However, Liang Kai did not do as well as we had expected him to.Although all his movement and technique was correct, the ball just did not seem to be able to hit the opponents half of the table. No matter how hard he tried, the ball just would not go in.I think it was because the ball was different from the ones that we usually use. In the end he lost but we were all very proud of him as he had played very well. Next up was the first doubles consisting of Yan Jing and Sheng Hui, two singles player.Although they had never played together before, they still had plenty of chemistry between them to control tyhe whole game and overwhelm their opponents. They won the match 3-0. Jamus was the 2nd singles for team AHS and while his match went on,the doubles events started.Nick and I was the pair going up against the big boys as we heard them saying that this was an under 18 event.Wow. We had the before match jitters and could not really concentrate before the match. Hence when we started we made many mistakes. But luckily, halfway through ther first set,we gained back our rhythm and form and fought back all the points and won the set. After that, things went on pretty smoothly adn we went on to win 3-2, after making many costly mistakes.I felt that i played pretty okay but Nick performed brilliantly, forcing the opposition into many errors.

After the whole tournament,we had won 5-1.Sorry that i am unable to post about the rest of the matches as i was too tired to pay much attention to the rest of them. We played a few more friendlies with the malaysians, this time with no stress at all. At around 1 plus, we were invited to have lunch with them. The food that they prepared were filling yet delicious, one of the most enjoyable moments of the day to be able to enjoy the widespread prepared for us. After that we headed back for SINAGAPORE...

To be continued...

Two tests tomorrow...

Phew! I managed to find time in between studying for two tests tomorrow, Chemistry and chinese spelling. I've just finished on the spelling and now for the chemistry... Its going to be a long long night...

Well, lets start from yesterday first. We had training yesterday, the most fun sport in the whole wide world especially with coach. had to do 50 "la qiu" and got quite tired after that. Could be because of the lack of practice causing me to tire so easily. However most of the training was spent on watching the girls and boys c'div basketball matches. It was partly also because of this that coach cancelled the training on thursday(Oh man!!). He said that we were all very distracted by the tournament that we could not concentrate on training. Moreover, Thursday was also the date set for the Basketball C'Div finals, according to coach, and that we would feel even more distracted. So there won't be any training on Thursday which means-SOCCER!!!

Today we had the student councillors and CCA leaders investiture. It went quite well and the dance by the councillors were great especially Matthew who danced EXTREMELY well. It looked as if he was built for dancing. HAHA.

Yeah, that seems to be all, nothing else to say already. Got to go study for the chemistry test again. Hope i do well for it.wish me luck =).(Crossing Fingers)

Soccer today...

Nothing much happened today. But since Nick wanted me to post, I will try to thin of something.Any ideas Nick?Well ok, I have got one..

Today school proceeded as normal till SEL session. With the exception of the chinese class where Mdm Ong wasted 2 periods scolding us again and telling us that she was a good teacher...Well, i've got no comments for that. But during SEL, We were supposed to be doing the Kolam assignment as a class but it seemed to have backfired as not many participated.Leaving only the usual people to do it(im not one of them).
Eveyone was practically doing their own stuff and enjoying the air-con while the monitress and a few others were trying hard to concentrate amidst all the shouting and laughter in the room.In the end, the group of people were the ones who completed the assighnment for the class too. I sure hope that more people would participate in the activities tomorrow and not just leave everything to the small bunch of people. I feel that this project could be a fun and enriching one if everyone in the class participated and co-operated. We can only hope...and pray...

Well, after that we played soccer at Simpang. Quite a fun one and am dying to get back my scoring form after missing almost all the chances set up by my teammates. I also hope that i can find time improve on my ball control this week as it seems that i have been losing many balls and causing my teammates to lose recently. Sorry Guys...

Well thats the end of the post.Good night everyone and thanks for reading. :)

DSA selection...

Today was a bit special but not very... Cause it was DSA selection day. Although the sec 3s did not have to attend it, me and Nick still turned up as he needed to find his table tennis bat which he lost unknowingly... Well, but luckily he found it after much worrying yesterday night. He even tried calling Coach to see if he had taken his bat! HAHA..Nice one Nick..

Enough of the nonsense. Many primary school students turned up for the selection and the number of students who attended the table tennis trials was HUGE! It was even more than what we had expected,as rumours had been going on and on about the sports class students in AHS were causing and bringing lots of troubles to the school. As the parents did not want thier child to be "influenced" by us sports people, they have been making many complaints and not considering our school as an option for their child. Hence, it is why i found it shocking when more than a hundred students went for the selection. The tryouts took quite a long time and many of us felt quite bored as all the tables were used up and there was nothing else thet we could do there. So it seemed a bit of a waste of time.

After the whole thing, we went to play a short game of soccer in the SS court with the badminton players. My team lost miserably... After that I headed off for tuition.

Yeah..Thats about it..nothing more to post already.Enjoy your weekend!

What to do on Youth Day?

Phew, finally the weekends are here! However, i woke up early in the morning and couldn't get out of bed. My legs were still cramping! Badly! Why hadn't it recovered yet? This means i am unable to play soccer today...

Well, school time was long today. I couldn't take it. Almost fell asleep in class. At least its Saturday tommorrow and can rest after my tuition in the morning. Well, thats all for tonight. I was only thinking about the match after school-MegaNs VS Cage. Well, actually i was not supposed to play as i was not in their team. But since i loved soccer and only played it for fun, i decided to play for MegaNs as they were short of players. It was a chance not to be missed as i had not been playing soccer often during the school holidays. Hence, i asked a couple more friend to play for them and evenge the defeat we took from the other team last time, where we lost 6-2. Although we knew that we would surely lose, as this team was supposedly considered weaker than Rage(my team),I knew that miracles happened if we had the fighting spirit in us. And so,right after school, we headed to the field to start the game.

During the team talk before the game, i found out that there were very field people in the team that i knew, only just a handful. However, everyone still seemed bonded and wanted to have fun and if possible, win the match. Well, heres how the match went, just the important parts though if i can remember them...

1st Half:
During my first run with the ball, dribbling past 2 players and about to dribble past another when the guy crashed right into me before falling down. As sportsman, we helped each other up before continuing the game.

Keane did one of his long goal kickc which went towards me. I got past Azeal before passing the ball to Matthew. I think the ball was a little too far. And hence, Matthew had to shoot from quite a tight angle which almost went in.

Cage attack! They had a corner kick. Daryls corner was perfect, in-swinging towards their teammate, whose header struck the post and saved by the keeper.Phew!

MegaNs attack! This time, someone set up for Tony who blasted in from close range. 1-0 to MegaNs!

Cage attacked again.. But our keeper did well to saved the shot. However, there was some miscommunication at the back and Daryl had the ball. As the goal was wide open in front of him, he had the task to score the equaliser.1-1.

Half-Time!
By this time, all the MegaNs members were very happy as we had managed to contain most of their attacks and only let in the goal because of a silly mistake.Besides, we had more of the chances and we played extremely well even though this was the first time we ever played together. Our defence was also extremely tight, not letting our opponents penetrate into our defence too many times, thanks to Keane. We were extremely motivated and thought that winning the match was still in our grasp.

2nd Half:
We played with much more confidence now, and it was starting to get more fun. However this time they had much more chances.

However we managed to score first. It was a brilliant tackle from Brandon or Mandel, who dribbled down the right flank.Seeing this, I ran through the middle hoping for a pass. And the best thing was, his pass was perfect! Leonard, the guy marking me could not get to the ball quick enough and i had the simple task to swerve the ball pass the keeper. I was elated! First goal for the team which i just joined today! Thanks for the assist!2-1.

However, as i was brimming with confidence, i got the cramps while chasing down a long ball. OUCH! I had to get off the pitch immediately as both of my legs were cramped up pretty tightly. However, as there were no more substitutes, we had to continue with 10 men.

Cage took advantage of their extra man and capitalised on that, scoring the equaliser soon after.2-2.It was extremely sad as it was because of me, leaving them with 10 men against 11.Sorry team.

They scored again after a while, through Hong Kai, deflecting the ball past the keeper.2-3.

The next goal was from Jasper, Cage's team captain.2-4.

After that i went home as my cramp did not seem to recover. However, i felt it was a good match. MegaNs were actually a very good team. With a very good defence. Lets just hope we will win them next time.Right team!

hols over!

Well, today is the last day of the june holidays. My homework is not finished as usual but who cares. This past week had been quite an unhappy one for me but its okay, dont want to bring up the incident again.

However I do want to say that HENRY is leaving for Barcelona! Whoo, heard that Nick... Looks like Arsenal would relegate next season..or maybe the next or the next next. Ah who cares, just hope that Chelsea starts winning the treble next season. They have already bought many free transfers which i feel that could really improve the squad such as Alex, the defender who has contained Arsenal before in the champions league. I also feel that Chelsea should buy another Striker as i don't think Pizarro would be good enough for the premiership and that Drogba would be missing much of next season due to the Africans Nations Cup. Chelsea needs someone strong, fast and has a good eye on goal. Fernando Torres fits the bill. He is still very young but has already played for Spain and is the captain of Altletico Madrid. This shows that he is very mature and could play in the premiership.

Thats the end of the post. Go ChelseaFc!!!

Student Camp is so fun!

Phew! Im finally back from Student Camp which was right after our class chalet. Both of them were a BLAST! Especially the Student Camp!

Day 1:
We reported at 11.30 on thursday,07-06-07, for registration. Then we went to have our lunch at the canteen. When everyone was full, we went to the Main sanctuary for the opening ceremony of the Student camp. Most of the time the opening ceremonies are very long with many boring speeches, but this one was short and good. It ending by letting us have an ice-breaking game together with our group members. The motive of the game was letting us make an object which could stand, carried around and that could represent our group with various recycled materials. As our group was called Bvlgari, a branded name, we decided to make a handbag. At first none of us wanted to give any ideas on how the handbag would look like. We seemed to be very shy towards each other even though we were all from the CCA.It was only when our leaders,Guo Zhang Ge, Wei Xuan Ge and Jing Wen Ge started to chip in with some ideas that we started talking.

Soon, our bag began to take shape. Everyone had a hand in creating the bag. When it was all done, it surprised us to see what we could do with such recycled stuffs. It looked awesome! The objects that other groups created were also very nice. Some were in the shape of the japanese cartoon characters Kerokeropi, Mashimaro and many more. Although it was very good, the main thing was that it was for Ice-Breaking and that we had FUN!

When it ended at 4:00,our group went to play soccer even though it was supposed to be bathing time.

Then at 7, it was Dinner time! Once again we went to the canteen for our dinner. Everything procceded as normal but only one thing changed. Now, everyone was talking with each other unlike at lunch where only a few people talked. The ice has broken!

Next was Praise and worship. This was the part that alot of us loved the most, as we could all gather together and worship God. We learnt some new songs and sang our lungs out. It seemed that everyone was singing as the whole sanctuary was filled with voices. It was as if we were all united as one to praise and worship God, no matter which religion we came from. The song that was most welcome was "One Way". The praise and worship certainly lifted all our mood as we left for Bible study or BS for short. At BS, i learnt that we were all special as God created us in his own image. It was really a very enriching session.

After that, we went to have our night games. We were supposed to be detectives and solve the mystery of who the murderer was. It was very exciting yet scary as the environment was dark and eerie. Therefore, we stuck in groups and went around asking "witnesses" and suspects for clues. The murderer was very clever, he mislead us by acting very innocently and answered our questions smartly. It fooled us completely. and making us more and more confused. However, everyone still managed to solve the crime. We were dead tired by then. And at 11.30, it was lights out.

Day 2:
Morning call at 0800 and by 0830, we were all having our breakfast followed by QT. And at 0915, we had praise and worship again. Once again all the different teams were all united as one to worship God. Then it was sermon time. The preacher was not bad as he was able to connect with the youths. But i still found it a little too long, together with the rest of the people as many of them were fast asleep. They only awoke when they heard the word Amen in the closing prayer. Then it was BS. We did a few activities before heading off for lunch and then games. The game was to let us get our clues for talent night later on.The first team to complete would have more choices on picking the theme. The game was a bit like fear factor although it considered a bit of running. Some of the things we had to do was picking up mealworms, star jumps while not swallowing condense milk in the mouth and blowing a balloon till it bursts and much much more. In this game we did qute badly and only had a few choices left. We had to pick a number and we chose 4. When the theme was given to us, we had a shock. It was ballet dancers. We had to start and end off in the same posture as the picture. All of us thought that we were doomed for sure. But seeing that nothing could help it, we tried to get the best out of it. We decided to make a comedy out of it.

This was the summary of the whole show:
There were 11 ugly people who shared the same liking- Dancing. Some of them prefered the Hip Hop,where Jin Jie and Yi Heng starred. Some liked the indian dance, where me, Yi hao and Chester acted. There were also some who loved the chinese classical dance(Ben and Guo Hui). Lastly, there was the Cha Cha, Where Yu Hua and my bro acted. We made the act till everything we did was funny and entertaining. Even we ourselves could not contain our laughter.

Although the talent night was later that night, we still went to play soccer as usual.

Everything proceeded as normal after that. We had our Dinner before heading off for SINGING again. But the best has yet to come.
Next up was the Talent Night Show.We were split into our different houses, which consisted of different groups. The two best groups of each house would enter into the finals.

When it started, we were all very nervous. The time range for each group was 3 mins and seeing that many groups did noy manage to complete their performance within the 3 mins caused us to become more nervous. This was because we took around 5 mins during the rehearsal.
When it was our turn, almost all of us were petrified. But Jing Wen told us something that helped us a lot. He said"This isn't about winning. The most important is giving it your best and have fun!" Immediately, all of us became motivated. We went upstage with less burden in our hearts. We enjoyed the entire perfonce and the crowd laughed the entire time. No words could represent how we felt that time. Once all the groups had presented their item, it was time for the pulse-proclaiming results. Everyone were silent and could not bear to hear who would enter the finals. And when it finally came, We could not contain our excitement. We had entered the Finals! We hadn't really expected it as the other groups also did quite well with their interesting plots. This also meant that we would have to act again, not knowing we should be happy or not, this time with a much bigger crowd.

When the order of each skit was announced, we found that we were the last group to act, allowing us to have more time to settle down. In the finals, the items that were produced were much better than those in the qualifying rounds. Although sadly, Kerokeropi and Ultraman did not make it. I had really hoped that they could have gotten into the finals as they were all sports students too, together with us. Well, enough of that
lets continue. The skits formed by Mr Chuas group and the St Johns group impressed me the most as they were really really brilliant. It was really hilarious to see them imitate others and turning it into a joke. And all the while, in all the excitement, nervousness had again started building inside us.

Soon, it was down to our turn. Once again, Jing Wen Ge managed to motivate us once more before we started on our Finale. This time, all of us were much more confident than before, thinking that everything we said was really just a joke. Laughter, once again, filled the air as we started on the performance. Although it was the second time showing, the loudness of the laughter had increased. Their laughter and clapping really motivated us even more causing us to work even harder to make the show even funnier.

When the show had finished,it was time for the results. While the judges were busy tallying up the scores, all the different houses started shouting their cheers, before everyone shouted the camp cheer all together. Then, it was the time that all of us had been waiting for-The Results Show. Everyone remained silent once more as they announced the Best Actor award. However, they tried a new way in announcing the results, which was by acting out the part which the actor/actress/group starred in. It was quite obvious which person won it, the NCC people, as their imitation of Mr Yeow was perfect, in fact he could have won the best mediacorp artist award! The best actress was also quite obvious as it went to a member of the St John's group.
Then it was time for the best group award. As the judges walked out onto stage to act out the skit of the winners group, it seemed that the St John's had won it as the posture of the judges were exactly the same as theirs. However in a turn of events, the judges started ballet dancing!
Hooray! We had won it. It was all thanks to Jing Wen ge for his motivation and God for his guidance. It was really a night to remember for all of us. That night all of us had a good nights rest after a hard day of work.

Day 3:
On this Saturday,09-06-07,everything proceeded normally and smoothly. We did our usual things such as singing, playing soccer, having fun and most of all praising God.

Day 4:
This was the day that many of us were looking forward to. There was The Amazing Race. Well not the one on Tv but a game that consisted of us running around Singapore to complete the tasks which the station masters gave us to do. The objective was to complete all the tasks and return back to AHS the first. However, we had to take our group photos before that. But it only took a while before all of us left for our exciting journey. Firstly all of us went to macritchie for oue first station. It required quick fingers and teamwork to complete the task and our group had just that. Hence we completed the task the earliest. We headed off to the next station at the mazy bridge. The task was to have everyone except one person blindfolded and cross the bridge without touching the railings. Once again, with the good leadership qualities of Jing Wen, we completed it with ease. As we were leading by quite a distance, we took the opportunity to have a short break and to clean some wounds before heading off again. The next station was a bit trickier. It was something like simon says but just that we had to reach a safe zone and that the distance was much much longer. This time we were much slower and allowed the group behind us to catch us. But no matter, as after we completed the station, we quickened our pace to the next station. This station told us to look closely at the surroundings and find some the number of objects put by the station masters. This caused our whole group to slow down and allow more groups to gain on us. We guessed many times but kept getting it wrong. We counted more than 5 times before managing to get the right answer. Although we were the first group to guess it correctly, the second group were nipping at our heels as we went to our next destination. It was destination Parkway. We planned to take the bus there but found out that Guo Zhang Ge was not with us. So we had to wait and saw many groups get on the buses before us. Everyone felt demoralised and blamed him. But when he arrived, he was carrying a big bag of ice-creams for everyone. Immediately, all of us felt guilty and thanked him for his treat. We got on the next bus and were on our way. The bus journey was very long and we had to keep switching buses. This demoralised us even more as we knew that the other groups would be far ahead of us by now. However when we arrived, we saw that the other groups were still there. We were all very surprised and confused. But soon, we found out. To complete the station, we had to eat the spiciest food that we could find and finish it all up. As the other group consisted of all girls they had a hard time finishing while we finished it within it with the help of Guo Zhang Ge, Wei Xuan and Jing Wen. We rushed off to the next nearby station where we had to eat Laksa.By that time, the Girls had also finished and followed us there. The girls order came first and once again they took quite a long time to finish. Ours came soon after, and we finished it in a matter of seconds. Know why? Because Wei Xuan only ordered 1/2 a bowl and requested the auntie to cut the noodles into small bits. When we finished, the girls had already hailed a cab, allowing 4 of them to leave first. Seeing this, we ran further in front to the taxi stand to hail 3 cabs, stealing them from their grasps. This certainly angered them. The next station was at Bedok interchange. There, we had to order a desert and finish it.Once again we finished it in lightning speed and left when the girls just arrived. Next stop, Simpang's Prata stop. We hailed 3 more cabs in succession and headed off. But i gotta tell u something. The cab that we took was absolutely awesome. I just cant explain it. the back was very spacious and comfortable and the driver was friendly too! However, when we arrived at the prata shop, the station master was nowhere to be seen at all. We searched high and low, left and right but still could not find her. When Jing Wen called her, she sayed that she hadn't arrived yet and asked us to order first. Yu Hua felt generous and treated us to free drinks and the prata. But lo and behold, the girls group had arrived and they got their pratas immediately after they ordered and we had to wait. What was this!? We ordered earlier and they got it first! So there was a bit of quarrel between the 2 groups after that and the station master, whom had already arrived, told us to split the pratas between each other and leave after finishing them. Immediately, both group grabbed their pratas and dashed off. We decided on running all the way uphill as we did not want to waste time flagging a taxi. However some of the girls managed to get a cab. When we saw this, all of us started sprinting up the slope, with pieces of prata still in our hands. We ate while we ran, causing some of us to feel nausea. But we knew this was not a good time to vomit as the girls group were already right behind us, running uphill too. We increased our pace and continued our 'Marathon'.

The school was within sight and the other group had closed the gap between us tremendously. Their fastest runner was only 2 cars away from our slowest runner! But Wei Xuan kept encouraging us to go on and do it for the group, and hence, we arrived the first. It was a really exciting race. However, Jing Wen warned us not to be so proud and taught us about sportsmanship. So, we cheered for them and they too responded by cheering for us. Aww, how touching...

After that, we went to our usual hangout- the street soccer court. This time we only played a short while due to the Amazing Race and fatigue. However i still got leg cramps. It was my first time lah and it was while i was heading for the bathroom and with no one with me. Luckily i knew the basics of 'curing' it and did it within a few minutes. It was quite fun actually. Then, we went for our dinner and praise and worship after that. We were overjoyed that night as we were announced the best group in the camp. But the best is still yet to come.. The CAMPFIRE!!!

The campfire night was totally great man! No words can explain how fun it was. Everyone got all crazy and started dancing the dances that we were taught. No one cared about anything except dancing. We also had BBq where we found out that there were many good cooks in the group, especially Guo Zhang Ge. His food were extremely delicious and tasty with members of the other groups left drooling as they saw us eating. We partied till very late at night and when it was time for lights out, we still had not had enough.

Although the campfire had already out, we still managed to have a good time by playing Boom-O all thru the night till 7 plus in the morning. That was the most memorable night of all!

The next day, it was pack up time right after breakfast. Everyone did not seem to have the mood to pack up as we all knew what was after that- Home. However we knew we had to do it and so, all of us worked together and finished the job in no time.

After that we went for our final praise and worship session and this time, the voices were louder than ever. Then it was home sweet home.

In this camp, i made many new friends. No matter if it was boy or girl, tall or short, fat or thin, all of us have become good friends. This was one of the best camps that i have been to. So, dont miss it next year!

Flag Day-part 2

Part 2:

In the afternoon,A lot more people came for the flag day. We decided on going to Toa Payoh first to collect some donations. When we arrived, many of the "money" collectors had already arrived and started. We were too late! Then, we headed off to Dhoby Gayt where it was a very crowded place and sure to be able to collect alot of money. Although there were also other collectors there too,we still decided to do our flag day there since it was a big place. We split into groups and went our seperate ways. Me, Nick and Leonard were in one group. At first we felt a little lost at the place, not knowing where to go or what to do first. Since it was not very familiar to us, we decided to head of to another place-Serangoon again.

We went back to the same spot for collection. However, "business" was not very good now. There were less people around now and we only managed like 10 cents per minute for the first 10 mins. Then Leonard came up with a bright idea. He told us to try going door to door where we would be able to get more money. Although it was a good plan, only 1 door opened for us where choon hwee got a donation of 2 dollars.

Since not many people opened the door for us,we went back to the same old spot again where it was tried and tested. We managed to collect quite a sum by 5 plus when we headed back to Bradell.

Phew! What a fun and meaningful day that was.

Flag day!

Today we had flag day. Out of all the 3G people, only Shawn,Nick and I went for the morning shift. At first we were quite lost as we were supposed to meet at the "Round Box",but had no idea where it was. We tried asking the conductors but they, too, had no idea what it was let alone where it was. We tried searching for it by going out of the MRT station, walking around and calling the other classmates. But still it was of no use. Then, our good friend Nick had a suggestion. He suggested that we go ask for directions in the community centre nearby. That proved to be of great help as while we were walking there, we met another bunch of AHS students also going for flag day. They confirmed with us that the round box was in the CC. Nice one Nick!

However there was a long queue in the CC, therefore making us wait. Surprisingly, the queue was gone within 15 mins and we started our journey soon after.

At first we went to Novena, which was our designated location. Upon arriving,we went to have our breakfast, which took around an hour, before starting on our quest. At first we were all very lost on what to do even though it may have seemed easy. I think it was because our pride was at stake if we wanted to gather any money, and that caused us to waste much precious time. None of us wanted to start first, thinking that it was very "malu".
Thinking that it was a waste of time, we decided that we should go somewhere more familiar to have our flag day.In the end, we chose Serangoon. And to our amazement,Nick volunteered to get the ball rolling by showing us the right example of collecting money.

At Serangoon, mnay people were walking either to the MRT or interchange, which was only a few metres away from each other. When we turned to Nick for his example, he said he was joking. Lol, nice one Nick. Once again, we wasted time again, this time around 30 mins. After that did we den start to hav a little bit of courage to ask a few people. Which was really ONLY a few. Me 1, Shawn 2 and Nick 0.

After collecting money for a while, we decided it was time for a break. By then, all of us had collected a few cents each, with an exception to Shawn who recieved a 2 dollar note. We slacked for along time, all of us not interested in the flag day at all. But something changed our attitude towards it.

After that incident, we started lowering our pride and went to ask from whoever walked past us, unlike before, where we chose who we wanted to collect from. At first, when the people rejected us, there was a little bit of embarrasment inside us. But after being rejected a couple more times, we started feeling less malu and actually thought it was very fun and thrilling! No matter who it was, anyone who past us were asked to donate money, although not all gave.

Time flew very fast after that and soon it was 12.30, time to head back to Bradell. We were very sad as we still wanted to do more and that our bags were still quite empty. But still we headed back.On the way back, Nick said that he wanted to attend the afternoon shift too.As i too did not have enough of the fun, also decided to join the afternoon shift. But sadly, Shawn could not join us as he had something on at home. So, after he had returned the bag,we seperated but now with a new member-Leonard aka Choon Hwee.

-End of part one-

Holidays are coming!!!

Yay! The holidays are coming! Im so excited, just cant wait for it to start. But there are still 2 more days to go,oh well, i must try to tolerate cause school has become more and more boring! Why?! It used to be much more fun than this, but what happened? Now im only looking forward to the 2GH class chalet and student camp in the holidays.
Okay, first lets talk about today. It was alright and we had the career fair and all. Just a little boring and messy. Everyone in sec 3 was crowding inside the indoor stadium and when it was time to check out the stalls, the court was not big enough to contain everyone, making it kind of squeezy.
After school, there was a skills test for some sports group, but not for table tennis. Hence, nick, shawn, choon Hwee and I went to play table tennis. It was kind of fun, with Nick mixing tennis and soccer with TT. Well than we went home. End of post.

Results collection-Day 1

Today was something like doomsday for me-because it was results day. Actually, I wasn't that frightened about it all, cause i thought the papers were relatively easy. Hence,I arrived in school filled with confidence, confident that i would do extremely well. I even came early to play table-tennis and soccer! But that all changed during the first period...

It was chinese. At the start, i thought i could surely get at least a B3 for chinese as i found the paper very simple. But when i recieved it,my jaws almost dropped-i only managed a 57.5!!! Well,of course i was very sad,i had high hopes for this test but it turned out to be a disaster.

The next period was double math where we got our A math paper. I wasn't very surprise when i just managed a pass as Mr Poh had already hinted to us how we fared.

For the 2 sciences, i also got below expectations, with both being 50plus.

Well i guess i gotta study harder for the end years. Why not now...?

MYEs over

Yes!! The MYEs are finally over, its time for a break... And yes, today a bunch of us,Ryan,Raymond,Ming Swee,Nick,Hua Yu,Cheong Heng,Fu Seng,Zi Jie and of course MATTHEW, went to catch a movie called "Bridge to Terebediah"(I think). Personally,i feel that it was quite nice and a bit humorous. It thought us what a little bit of a imagination could do and also about friendship.I would recommend it to those people who likes fantasies alot to watch this movie.

Well, enough of today. Tommorow, there would be a mini olympics held in the school. Me and the rest of the TT boys would be joining the soccer events, hope all of u would come and support us! Well thats the end of my post. This year, the tests everyday drags a long time. There is even one day that i have to spend five hours on the exam. That is so crazy,i think i will just break down during the exam. But at least the exams are only 6 days.Well, actually its not really fun after that till the holidays. We only get 2-3 days of rest, which is spent on sports carnival, after the exams. Why the heck is there only a couple of days of rest?!We study for so many days, get stressed up and sick and after that,we only get this few days of break. I mean why can't you-know-who spare a thought for us? all she does is walk past our classrooms, interupts our lesson to ask us to pick up our litter and leaves. After a few days the cycle repeats itself again. What a life man! All of us might not be as bright and gifted like her but she still forces us to be like her.
Well i don't wanna spoil my mood anymore so i will now start on the good things happening during the June holidays. Well apart from trainings during the holidays,There will be a sports class chalet! Cool! I attended the one 2 years ago and it was quite good but was mostly the H class people who attende the bonding chalet. I sure hope there are more people from the G class joining this year, cause it wouldn't be much fun without those people that i have spent my last 2 years with.
After that, from 7-11 june, there will be a student camp. I got scolded for something i did not do.It all started during Chinese period......

I entered 3F as per normal and it was in the usual state of tidiness.Even before i sat down, the teacher was already giving out the Xi2 Zi4 that we did previously.I did okay and got 73 plus a packet of sweet. When she finished handing out the papers, she immediately gave us back our chinese compo to complete by today. As i was a slow writer,i did not care about anything else and started on the work.
Not long after,Ms Cheong suddenly appeared out of nowhere and saw all the litter at the back of the classroom. As Cher Yong and i were the ones right at the back, she told Cher Yong to pick up the litter around him. When i turned around to face her,she also told me to pick up the litter around "MY" table. While i was picking up,she started scolding me,"If i catch you having any more litter under your desk,i will ask you to clean up the whole school for me!" I was like, what the.... I must complete this work before the end of the period and there you are scolding me for something that i did not do.If it were my place and i had the time, iwould definitely pick it up.But because of the lack of time i had to put my prioritys right,my homework comes first. All she did was just scold and not do anything else like help, unlike some of my other teachers who are not that proud and who stick their noses in the air.
Because of her,i did not manage to complete my composition and had to stay back after school to complete it,taking around an hour. Such a waste of my precious time when i could have gone home earlier to study my SS test tomorrow. If i fail this... She will be reprimanding everyone again when it was you-know-whos fault...Hmph!

New Street Soccer Boots!!!

This shall be quite a short post for all of you guys.

During the Good Friday holiday which the school gave us, Zi Jie,Me,Cher Yong and Jing Lu went to Queensway to buy some stuff such as soccer boots and pants. The moment we stepped into the shopping centre,we were stopped dead in our tracks as there were too many sports shops in there and did not know where we should start looking first. So by basic instinct,we entered the one closest to us. It was extremely large and was 2 shops merged into one. We looked around briefly and could not find anything that we wanted.

Then, we went to the next shop, which Cher Yong said was the one where he bought his first ever Basketball shoes. I liked a few models of the street soccer boots there but still left empty handed as we wanted to compare the prices of different stalls. The next stall we went, Cher Yong spotted Zi Jies PUMA lookalike shoes. This shop was was also the biggest so far and so we took a long time browsing. In the end there was nothing we liked in there so we left. We went to the second floor and Jing Lu went to purchase his pants. To our surprise,he only took a couple of minutes to make the purchase, i have never seen anyone doing it so quick before!
As there were not many sports stalls at the second level, besides the one where they sold a few pairs of boots for 29.90 dollars,we went back downstairs to have another look.

We went to the shop where there were a few boots i was interested in and it was there Me and Zi Jie bought our New Boots. I bought a pair of Addidas Predator Absolado boots while Zi Jie bought a pair of blue Nike Noventa boots. It cost quite a sum. Happy with our purchase, we continued looking and waiting for Cher Yong to find boots that he liked. We went to a stall named "Salom and Sons".It was a stall ran by Malays and as we were discussing the prices of the boots and thinking whether to buy anything else from the stall, the malay stall owner suddenly shouted at us with his ascent:"You all having meeting there is it?!" We all looked back thinking if he was mad, shouting at customers who were making up their minds should or should not they should buy from his stall. Immediately, everyone had the same answer in their mind. We strmed off hi stall vowing never to enter that stall again. What kind of customer service was that, shouting at customers, while they were busy talking to their own Malay and Indian friends when we entered. It was also no wonder not many people entered their shop or for those who entered did not buy anything. Well, i do not want to spoil my mood talking about this s##t so i shall move on.

Then,We went to McDonalds to have a break. We talked for around 20 minutes before leaving. Just as we were about to leave,Cher Yong asked us to go to the first stall again. It was there that he boughjt his shoes branded Kelme. It looked quite cool and quite suitable for soccer too,so Cher Yong bought it. After that i went home. What a fun day!

Chinese Test

Today was a GREAT day man. Firstly, during the first period, i didn't understand a single thing about mathematics or what Mr Poh was saying. Secondly, which was the third period, we had chinese where we were gonna have a test. Before all of us even entered the room, our chinese teacher started shouting and screaming at us. I found out later that someone had told her that he/she didn't know there was a test today. She shouted for a long time ,saying,"我不管了。你们读不读不管我的事。上次已经跟你们讲有测验你们不要听！" She was completely mad, shouting from the top of her lungs. Then she even started the test late, making many of us not being able to finish the test on time, including me. Some of them, like Cher Yong,Jue Hua and Matthew, who did not even get their papers on time due to a shortage of scripts, were not given additional time to complete them.
The test was also one of the reasons making it a GREAT day. The test was super easy,i knew almost all the answers. I thought i was gonna score very well for this test for sure. But, while i was about to star on my first Comprehension question, the teache suddenly told us that there was only 5 mins left. I was like totally stunned. There was not a single minute to lose, as i did 4 questions in the last 5 mins, containing 12 marks in total. But alas, there was still 2 questions at the back. The teacher told us to put our pens down and she started collecting the scripts. Well, there goes 9 marks without me even being able to attempt.
Next was Geography. At least that was the only meaningful period of the day.Mr Tan thought us how to study maps and to calculate stuff, it was quite fun.
The next period was also quite relaxing as we did storyboarding for Lit.After that, the periods passed by quite quickly as English was followed by math and then SPT. I completed my homework before heading of to play soccer at Simpang with all the soccer maniacs in class.
When we arrived there,we only managed to play a short while before more people started forming teams and joining us. It was absolutely not fun when others joined us as some of them were very rough and always acted cool by ramming the ball into goal.
Well that was the end of a GREAT day. How about yours?

Fratenite FC against NS boys

Today was sypposed to be a fun day- and it was quite fun.. We went to Matthews house at melville park to play soccer. Then the first bad thing happened-while warming up, i sprained my toe while attempting to pass a high ball to ZJ, landing on one of my toes(OUCH!). I had to rest for awhile causing my teammates to wait for me(Sorry!). When it was our turn, I played super badly because of my injury, making all the wrong passes in good positions, and so we lost as i kept losing possesion in dangerous areas. After the match, even Nick came to me and said:"Yu Xun u just play playing ar,always anyhow pass." I was D#mn embarrased lah. But after that match,i played better thanks to nicks words(thanks Nick!). When it was time to leave, i had to meet my mum at Tanah Merah MRT and i was late. After getting on the car,she reprimanded me as she was late for my elder bros PTC.
Today was a very bad day for me.
But anyway,im looking forward to tomorrow! As my soccer team have a match against some NS Guys! We lost the match 8-1 in the first leg,a total thrashing. But it was partly because we did not have our full squad with us. So in this match,we have an amazing chance to win as we've got our full squad back.

PLS wish me luck if u have read this post!

My Journey to a soccer player..

ZZZZZZ..Im so bored.. So i will just post what i can only think about right now-SOCCER. Well not just any old thing about soccer that i have already posted before, but how i came to like soccer. Heres how it all started......

From 1 - 9Years old
From when i was 1 years old to 10 years old,i didnt know anything about soccer or that it even existed in this world. It was only when my cousins abandoned a match of Monopoly with me to catch a game of soccer on ESPN that i heard the word soccer.

At the age of 10
This year, someone gave me the soccer game FIFA road to World Cup as a present. At first i only chucked it aside, thinking it was something dumb. But one day,as i had nothing to do,i decided to try it out as nothing could be worst than not doing anything. I found the game very interesting as what i saw was people using their legs to control the ball and shooting it with power together with accuracy. I found it very fascinating as i knew it would take many years of training to be able to control the ball so well. This was also the time where i started supporting a club and finding my model in soccer-Gianfranco Zola from Chelsea FC.
Many of you will be asking me-Why Chelsea? Okay, actually it was by luck. My older brother likes Manu and my younger bro likes liverpool. As i wanted something different from the them i started finding out more about other clubs.
At first many people recommended Arsenal to me saying that they were Title-winning material. At first,I thought Arsenal was a good choice. But soon i found out that Arsenal were mostly using foreigners in their team so i continued on my search. Then, one day i watched a match between Arsenal and Chelsea. It was the first match that i watched. I saw Arsenal dominating the match but it was one player that caught my eye.Yes, Zola.Although he was very quick and skilled and has the ability to dribble past defenders, but i saw that he mostly passes and not solo on himself. He was a true Team Player.Even though Arsenal won the match, but i knew that ChelseaFc was for me to support.

At the age of 11
I started playing soccer this year. In my first match at my friends house, i was a complete LOSER. Whenever the ball came to me,i would either miskick it or totally miss it. But it was a good experience for me and i wanted to improve on the skills. So whenever i went to my friends house,we would always have a time set to play soccer. After a few months of "training",my skill on the game had improved alot, from a complete loser to a rookie. In school,my status of a soccer player had also increased, from the bottom till the top few in school. That was the year that i thought about being a soccer player in the future.

At the age of 12
There was PSLE this year but the hottest topic was the Inter-Class soccer tournament after that. As we wanted to be the champions,we played soccer every recess. During one recess,as our teams goalkeeper did not come,i filled in the spot for him. That was also the day that i got a new status "The best keeper in school" which i did not know why. Maybe it was because i had saved 3 penalties in a row and 2 one-on-ones. But it was all pure luck. The penalties that i saved were either because the kicker kicked the ball to close to me or because they were too weak. I did not even have to do much but just stop the ball. I didnt deserve to get the Status actually.
During the tournament,I was again riverted to a central defender even though i didn't even know how to tackle. And it was because of me that our team lost. I went all the way to the opponents half before losing the ball when i should have opted to pass the ball.As i was out of position, The opposition players passed all the way through our defence before scoring the winning goal. We were kicked out of the tournament because of me.

At the age of 13 to 14
During this 2 school years, i learnt more about the sport and that teamwork was key in soccer. I found many pro players in the the class such as Ryan-a skilled dribbler, Zi Jie- the playmaker,Matthew-the new PELE,Raymond/Nick/Cher Yong/Jing Lu-the hardworking defenders,Ming Swee-the silent Ball winner and Fu Seng-the long ranged specialist and ball winner. From them, i learnt that scoring wasn't everything as the person who set up the chance was equally important.

So that was my journey... :)

Results!!! and Holidays...Yahoo!!!

Yes!!Today is the last day of school and we got our results back as well. Im going to blog about the one thing that i like most. Can you guess? Hey you're not guessing but just continuing to read! Well alright, enough of the nonsense. Its about soccer!!..once again.

Recently, there has been speculation that Manchester United have already won the English Premier League title after a super super super super super duper Late and lucky goal against Liverpool in a clash between the Titans match. The match winner--John O'Shea who has been out of favour recently. He was substituted in for the injured talented child prodigy, Wayne Rooney. It looked as if it would already have been a bad night for Manu as Liverpool were the more dangerous team and the fact that Paul Scholes had been red-carded earlier on. Even though all the odds were already on the Red Devils, they managed to score the winner after the liverpool custodian,Reina, had fumbled with a Cristiano Ronaldo Freekick(which was the only real save he managed to make throughout the match). Well, how lucky is that! Although i admire Manu alot, I feel that they did not deserve to win the match. This was not the first time already after games against Reading and Spurs.

I believe Chelsea should be rightly crowned as Champions. Despite the fact that i am a Chelsea supporter,I feel that any soccer fanatic would admire what Chelsea has done in the past few weeks. Even though there was a bust up between Chelsea owner Abramovich and Manager Jose Mourinho, Chelsea managed to go back to their winning ways after losing a few games. I saw in them their Determination and their courage to not give up and be distracted by the speculation revolving around the club. They were not only doing it for their supporters or for money but backing their Manager up as well, giving him 100% support. That is the main reason why i like Chelsea and why they should win the title even though there is a nine point gap between them and Manu. Go Chelsea Go!!!

March Holidays Fast approaching!!

The March Holidays are finally coming!!! At long last, after 3 long months of schooling and finally a week where i can have a rest.Well not really... Because there will be 3 days of Table Tennis training,2 days of tuition and only 2 days left for a break. Well, at least thats better then nothing right? So what am i gonna do in this 2 days? Hmm...... I haven't decided yet actually, but most likely it should be something FUN!!!

Well first I should tell all of you why I deserve this break.

Firstly, my record is still going-that is,the run of not failing any of my tests yet. Amazing right? This is the longest record so far as i always failed after 1 or 2 tests in my first 2 years in AHS, which means i have improved on my academic results. (HOORAY!!! :) )

Secondly, I haven't been late for school...yet. i hope to keep this up,till i leave the school. I think this run could be partly because of the new school rules set-giving detention to anyone who is late. This made me a bit scared and enabled me to be more punctual for school as i did not want to waste precious time sitting outside the general office for a few hours.

Lastly,I have been handing in my work punctually, especially for math, even though thre was a period of intense studying for tests. Again, this could be partly because i have a good form teacher. Because i do not want him to recieve much complaints about me, I will strive to complete my work before all other activities,so as to not let him down.

Well I hope everyone will have a fun-filled March holiday! GOD bless!

Chinese New Year is over...so fast!!!

AAARGH!!! 1 week has already flew past my very eyes and its already the 5th day of the Lunar New Year. However, I had fun during the 3 days of the CNY break that the school gave us,as we had had many tests brought forward due to the break.Im just glad that that torturous episode is over for me. My family visited many of our relatives homes to celebrate. I also managed to interact with many of my distant cousins, making it more meaningful for me.

Although it was the New Year, it did not seem really special of any sort as we had already celebrated it for many years. We did the usual stuff then, from the countdown to the Yu Sheng and the recieving of Ang Paos. I recieved quite a number of red packets till i lost count of them(as usual).

But it was during one of the days that i had the most fun. It was on the second day of the New Year, and we went to visit my mothers few good friends. They had thier own gathering while my brothers and i went to play with their children, who were around the same age as us. As i had brought my X Box 360 along,we just plugged it to the TV and started playing Halo II. Laughter filled the house as we battled against each other to see who was the best player amongst all of us. Time flew very quickly, and it was when it was time to leave that i realised it was already close to 2 a.m. We had arrived at 9.30 pm, meaning we played around 4 and a half hours! So the saying of time flys when you are having really applys to this!!

So that was about how i spent my 3 days break.

The Green Mile or Capital punishment

Ok the topic for this week is either on The Green Mile or Capital punishment.

We've watched the movie The Green Mile for around 5 periods during english. For me, I liked some parts and feel sorry in the others. In the movie, they used The Electric Chair,"Old Sparky" as the way of Capital punishment. It was the usage of electricity to kill a person. Electricity would enter rapidly into your body through a wet sponge on your head, shocking you and causing some pain.
At first i thought that the first execution part was quite funny due to the lack of knowledge towards the first prisoner. But as the movie continued, it showed us more and more about the other prisoners and their character.

During the second execution, which was Del's, I felt really sorry for him as he was actually a really nice guy, training Mr Jingles to be a Circus Mouse and becoming friends with John Coffey, and had truly repented for what he had done. But during the execution, Percy, the most disliked officer, purposely did not wet the sponge. When electricity was summoned into Del's body, it caused Del to feel intense pain as electricity passes through the body slower. And because of this, Del was cooked alive causing a pungent smell to fill the room "which would last for more than 5 years". This execution made me hate Percy even more than ever. It also made me realised how cruel Capital punishment really was.

By the next John Coffey's execution, I really felt like protesting against it not because it was not only cruel but because they were killing an innocent man who had sved and tried to save many peoples lives.

After the movie, I really hated Capital punishment. Must we take away other peoples lives because a lfe was taken away?! For me, I don't think so. We do not have the right to take away a persons life as God was the creator of Man and he is the only one who can take away the lives from us. When someone has sinned, he will have to face Judgement Day with fear if he had not repented and that will be the worst punishment.

New Years Day is Coming!!!

Yay!! Just 2 more days to the Chinese New Year! I'm so very excited as I can't wait to recieve more Red Packets and wear my BRAND NEW chinese new year clothes!

Im also feeling very excited to go back to my primary school to visit my teachers as they were the ones who helped me achieve my good PSLE results enabling me to enter Anglican High(where the top 15% cohort of student goes to). But this year is slightly different. The school is going to have the Chinese New Year celebrations AFTER Chinese New Year. I mean what's the point of that? Everyone and every school celebrates CNY on the first day and allows students to return to their primary school on the same day. And as we are celebrating on the 3rd day, the time that we are supposed to meet our teachers will clash with their schooling time. What's the schools problem? Wanting us to disturb our teachers who are in the midst of teaching.

Anyway, New Year is supposed to be a Happy occasion so why am I complaining. The B boys were against St Hildas Sec while the C Boys were against Dunman.

Although St Hildas were an ....okay....team, our table tennis team managed to thrash them 5-0. Yun Xiang, our first singles, won very very convincingly, giving his opponent almost no chance to attack.
Then our first doubles and also our best consisted of Guo Hui(captain) and Wei Bin(former C boys captain). They too defeated their opponents with ease, not even letting their opponents touch the ball much by hitting 'killer smacks' whenever they had 1/2 a chance(but all still went in).
Up next was our one and only Teo Jing Lu! He could not only cai1 and smack the ball but also xiao1 making him a lethal player. so it was also no surprise when he defeated his opponent within a matter of minutes.
After that it was the pairing of Ming Swee and Yu Wen for the next doubles.
Although the second doubles are supposed to be players weaker than the 1st doubles, the pair showed that they were equally as good with both players smacking and defending at the right time in unity. It was as if they could read each others minds with their movement. Ming Swee even had time to joke with us in between balls.
The last singles was Chester, one of the best player in our team. He won the first set with much ease. But in the next few sets, unknowingly, he started losing some crucial balls, causing him to lose 2 sets. At the final set,he was also trailing his opponent. But after he started regaining his usual form and won back all the points. It looked all so easy to him as if he had allowed the opponent to win 2 sets on purpose. But nevertheless, it was an exciting afternoon to support the B boys as I left after their match.

My Music...

Hmm, Mr Tan has given us the topic of "My Music". What should I write? Practically I listen to almost every kind of music, except heavy metal which i havent heard before. haha...

Okay, mostly I listen to Mandarin Songs like Jay Chou and JJ Lin, because my parents and brothers buys them, and so i listen...... However I do listen to English songs like Linkin Park and Bon Jovi but not much.

So, what english songs do I like? Well, that would be: Encore from Linkin Park!! actually, I dont really know much about this song just that the tune and Rhythm makes me become more energetic and want to sing along.

Heres the lyrics, ENJOY:
I'm tired of being what you want me to be.Feeling so faithless, loss under the surface.Don't know what your expecting of me. Put under the pressure of walking in your shoe(caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone).Every step that I take is another mistake to you(caught in the undertone just caught in the under tone). I've become so numb i can't feel you there. I've become so tired so much more aware. I've become this all i want to do. Is be more like me and be less like you. Can't you see that you are smothering me.Holding to tightly afraid to lose control. Cause everything you thought I would be. Has fallen apart right in front of you(caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone).Every step that I take is another mistake to you(caught in the undertone just caught in the undertone). And Every step that I take is another mistake to you.and every second i waste is more than i can take. I've become so numb i cant feel you there.I've become so tired so much more aware. I've become this all i want to do is be more like me and be less like you. And i know i may end up failing too. But i Know you were just like me with someone disappointed in you. I've become so numb i cant feel you there. I've become so tired so much more aware. I've become this all i want to do. Is be more like me and be less like you. i've become so numb i cant feel you there. There are so many tests coming up before the chinese new year and im totally stressed out even before i've taken any of the tests!! Why do they have to cramp up so many tests altogether in these few weeks!? Just because we can happily celebrate chinese new year after these torturing tests? I don't think so. I think i i would have already fallen sick by then, after needing to study all these tests in a few days time.
We have already had math, english, chinese,Biology and now even more after just one month into the new school year!

Anyway, I still hope to score well for my Geography common test which i have so frequently failed. Although, while typing, im still thinking about soccer.haha.

A month of schooling has already passed, and so far i've been doing quite well in coping both schoolwork and sports. We've already had many tests such as English,E Math, Biology,Social Studies and Chinese and I haven't even failed a single one yet! In fact, I got 16/20 for Bio which was an A1,12/20 and 57/100 for SS and Chinese respectively. I am sooooooo happy cos im not those smart kind of people who don't have to study and still get A1,but the ones who study and still fails.haha.

I think maybe its because of the change in studying environment, which has allowed me to concentrate more during lessons as last year, someone "outstanding" always talked to me and disturbed me while i was trying to listen to the teachers. This caused me to stray away from the lessons and get all confused about everything. Even though the teachers may think that the trio of Ryan, Raymond and Ming Swee are very noisy, but it is because of them that our classes have become more enjoyable and not boring, making the studying environment better.

I have also made many new friends during this one month of schooling. As we have to keep changing classes because of the different combination we are taking, this resulted in all of us having to bond with the people in other classes, interacting with them and making friends with them.

So I feel that i am having a great start in this new school year...

Singapore wins once again!

Singapore have won Thailand after 30 years, but not without controversial. Alam Shah was thought to be brought down by his former Sembawang Rangers teammate, when he was the one who knocked the player down. After the Ref awarded the penalty, the Thai players protested by going off the field and staying on the sidelines for 15 mins before being persuaded to go back.

For me,as I was one of the spectators,i felt that the Thai players shouldn't have gone off the field. They could have protested after the game. I, for one, know how they feel after they were awarded a wrong decision,as I myself play soccer and have been ordered to play on despite people kicking my legs without any ball contact. But they should have just carried on as sign of sportsmanship. Even without the penalty, i still feel that Singapore could have won the game.

The Asean Cup Finals!!

I know what you guys are thinking...But yes its soccer again. I just can't help it,i love soccer. Its the only true sport that i like(other than table tennis). And I hope that one day, my dream would come true, that is to play for Singapore one day.

Okay back to the point,Singapore a back to defend their crown in the Asean Cup, formerly known as the Tiger cup. This time, I feel that the team has emerged even stronger and with more hunger to win matches. This can be proved by their 11 goal thrashing of a young Laos side which they hed won 6-2 last year. Also with youth blended with the experience of those who had won the Tiger Cup,the Lions have also produced many intense comebacks against Malaysia.

So who do I feel should win the Cup competition? Hmm... lets see... Singapores Lions of course! From the matches that they played, I can tell that they have the right mentality, attitude and hunger to win the tournament, just like they did back then. So good luck to the Lions!

Singapore won and goes to the finals of the Asean Cup!!!

The Match that i had been waiting for was today at 8pm...but i was late.

Before that i had been shopping for CNY clothings at Isetan and only left at 7p.m. , thinking that i would still be early for the match. But to my horror, the traffic started to jam at Paya Lebar all the way to Nicoll Highway.

When i finally arrived at the stadium, I felt really really really GRATEFUL to Hong Kai who had waited and missed 30 mins of the match to hand me my tickets(sorry Hong Kai!!).

But nevertheless, the parts that we watched were very exciting, with both teams threatening each others goalmouth frequently. But it was Singapore who had much of the possession. Ridhuan threatened the Malaysians the most with his mazy runs and sprinting ability and it was also him who scored Singapores equalizing goal. After he had scored, the whole crowd jumped and sang unitedly:"ole,ole,ole,ole..." The mood was absolutely fantastic and beyond comparison.

After that, Singapore had many more chances to score the winner but they just couldn't find the finishing touch to their work.

During the Extra time, both teams looked fatigued and exhausted after playing the full 90mins of the game and rarely threatened each other till Precious,a central defender, clipped a long range shot...only to see the keeper pushing the ball away with his fingertips. That shot rounded off the Match before it went into the much anticipating- Penalty Shootout.

The first taker was Singapore forward, Indra Sahdan Daud, who who calmly sent the keeper the wrong way. But Malaysia also scored, making the penalties even more tense. The only 2 exciting parts was when Shi Jia Yi's penalty was almost saved by the keeper, who spilled the shot into his own net. The other one was when Lionel Lewis dived the correct way to save the final penalty causing the crowd to go wild... It was truly a match to be remembered.

Singapore vs Malaysia TODAY!!! At the National Stadium!!!

Yahoo! The semi-finals of the Singapore vs Malsysia soccer match is today! Im so excited! Hmm, why am i so excited? Oh yah, because im going with a bunch of soccer buddies and friends(Hong Kai, Ming Swee, Raymond, Ryan, Nick, Fu Seng, Zi Jie, Jing Lu, my Family members and of course Matthew!).Although this is not the first Live Match that im watching(Singapore vs China, 0-0),but im still feeling equally as excited! However, because of Singapores goaless draw with China, my expectations for this match are higher. Its not because Malaysia are worse in soccer than China but because i feel that the Singapore team have matured and improved recently. From Lionel Lewis to Alam Shah, i feel that they are not the same team who just play long balls but now a team who tries to play with teamwork. But, even though they have improved,i feel that the team is using too many foreigners. If a national team does not use many locals, then the atmospere would also not be the same as we are supporting other people and noy our people. Anyway, im still giving my support to this team and hope they will be champions again.
